ICD-Code F71.9: Moderate mental retardation Without mention of impairment of behaviour
Your intelligence is significantly lower than average.
Intelligence involves various mental abilities. It is needed in order to be able to absorb, process and apply new knowledge. Intelligence includes, for example, the ability to solve problems, understand connections and adapt to new situations. Intelligence can be assessed using certain tests. These tests are also called intelligence tests or IQ tests. The result of such tests is normally given as a numerical value, which is known as the IQ. An IQ of between 85 and 115 indicates average intelligence.
You have an IQ of between 35 and 49. People with an IQ in this range typically take longer to learn speech than other people. However, most will learn to communicate with others. They are slower to learn new things and need a certain level of support in daily life and in the workplace.
