ICD-Code G90.80: Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome [PoTS]
You have a disorder that relates to a certain part of your nervous system.
Many processes run unconsciously in the body. This includes breathing or digesting food, for example. The heartbeat or blood pressure are also adjusted independently by the body. These processes are controlled by a particular part of the nervous system.
If this part of the nervous system is impaired, the heart rhythm can be affected. As a result, the heart beats must faster than normal upon standing up. This can cause lightheadedness, dizziness or nausea. Vision may also go black. The reason for the disease is unknown.
