The coronary arteries can get narrow due to deposits of fat and calcium. Possible causes for these deposits include smoking, high blood pressure, and other conditions. The coronary arteries can also be narrowed by tensed muscles in the blood vessel wall. In addition, injuries can cause blood to flow less easily through the coronary arteries.
A heart attack involves parts of the heart not getting enough oxygen-rich blood. As a result, the affected heart tissue gets damaged or dies. You do not currently have any symptoms due to your heart attack.
