ICD-Code M67.23: Synovial hypertrophy, not elsewhere classified Forearm
The thin membrane of a joint capsule or a tendon sheath has become enlarged in your wrist.
At the wrist, the forearm bones, the ulna and radius, articulate with several bones of the hand. The ulna and radius are each connected to the hand via their own joint. There is also another joint between the ends of the ulna and the radius.
Joints are encased in a joint capsule.A tendon sheath is a covering for the tendon. It cushions the tendon and contains a small amount of fluid. This reduces friction between the tendon and its surroundings.Joint capsules and tendon sheaths have a thin membrane lining inside.
