Die Gebärmutter besteht hauptsächlich aus einer Muskelschicht und einer Schleimhautschicht. Die Schleimhautschicht ist gut durchblutet und wird regelmäßig höher. Ohne eine befruchtete Eizelle wird ein großer Teil der Schleimhaut nach einer Weile abgestoßen und erneuert. Wenn die Schleimhaut abgestoßen wird, dann kommt es zur Regelblutung. Die Gebärmutter mündet in die Scheide. Durch die Scheide fließen die Schleimhaut und etwas Blut bei der Regelblutung nach außen.
Ihre Regelblutung ist unregelmäßig.
