You are pregnant with more than one child. It is thought that, or it has been established that, at least one child has not turned to the usual birth position.
In the final weeks of pregnancy, the baby usually turns into the birth position. Typically, the baby's head is then pointing downwards and is positioned in the mother's pelvis. The baby’s face is usually turned towards the mother’s back and the baby’s head is flexed towards its chest. The baby’s back is turned to the mother’s right or left side.
If at least one child has not turned to the usual birth position, this can cause problems and, for example, make the birth take longer or make a Caesarean necessary.
