Wenn man blutet, dann gerinnt das Blut normalerweise nach einer Weile von selbst. An der Blutgerinnung sind unter anderem Blutplättchen und verschiedene Gerinnungs-Proteine im Blut beteiligt. Die Blutplättchen können miteinander verkleben und so eine Blutung stoppen. Die Gerinnungs-Proteine stabilisieren die verklebten Blutplättchen. Dadurch können dann zum Beispiel Wunden heilen.
