Zu den äußeren weiblichen Geschlechtsorganen gehören die Schamlippen, die Klitoris und die Haut um die Scheide herum. Den Bereich zwischen Scheide und After nennt man Damm. Der Damm besteht aus der sichtbaren Haut und aus Muskeln, die darunter liegen. Der Damm wird während der Geburt stark gedehnt, wenn das Kind durch die Scheide gelangt. Dabei kann der Damm einreißen.
Bei der Geburt sind die Haut Ihres Damms und Muskeln Ihres Damms eingerissen. Das ist ein Dammriss 2. Grades.
