Die Ohrmuschel ist ein von außen sichtbarer Bestandteil des Ohres. Das Ohr ist ein Sinnesorgan, mit dem man hören und das Gleichgewicht halten kann. Im Ohr unterscheidet man 3 Bereiche: das äußere Ohr, das Mittelohr und das Innenohr. Das äußere Ohr beginnt an der Ohrmuschel und geht dann in den äußeren Gehörgang über. Das Ende des äußeren Gehörgangs wird durch eine dünne Hautschicht verschlossen. Diese Hautschicht nennt man Trommelfell.
