Venen sind Blutgefäße, die das Blut zurück zum Herzen befördern. Die größten Venen sind die Hohlvenen. Es gibt eine obere und eine untere Hohlvene. Sie münden von oben und von unten ins Herz.
Es kann zum Beispiel sein, dass bei Ihnen eine Hohlvene fehlt. Möglicherweise sind bei Ihnen große Venen anders miteinander verbunden als normalerweise. Es kann auch sein, dass Sie eine zusätzliche große Vene haben.
Die Beschwerden hängen vom Ausmaß der Erkrankung ab. Häufig hat man gar keine Beschwerden. Es kann aber zum Beispiel sein, dass man weniger leistungsfähig ist oder dass bestimmte Bereiche vom Körper anschwellen.
