Mastzellen gehören zu den weißen Blutkörperchen und kommen in verschiedenen Organen und Geweben im Körper vor. Dort setzen die Mastzellen bestimmte Botenstoffe frei, um verschiedene Erreger und Fremdstoffe abzuwehren.
Die Mastzellen setzen bei Ihnen zu viele Botenstoffe frei. Diese Botenstoffe können zum Beispiel auch allergische Reaktionen auslösen. Bei einer Allergie reagiert das Abwehrsystem zu stark auf bestimmte Stoffe. Solche Stoffe können beispielsweise harmlose Stoffe aus der Umwelt, Medikamente oder bestimmte Chemikalien sein.
Bei der Mastzellen-Erkrankung kann man zum Beispiel rote Flecken auf der Haut bekommen. Die Haut wird dann plötzlich rot, schwillt an und juckt. Manchmal sind auch andere Organe betroffen. Es kann zum Beispiel sein, dass man Bauchschmerzen oder Durchfall hat. Es kann auch sein, dass Knochen oder die Muskeln schmerzen. Manchmal hat man Kopfschmerzen oder fühlt sich schwach.
