Durch die Entzündung können auch Organe geschädigt werden. Weil viele verschiedene Organe betroffen sein können, kann man unterschiedliche Beschwerden haben. Es kann zum Beispiel sein, dass die Nieren oder die Leber nicht mehr richtig arbeiten. Es kann auch sein, dass das Gehirn nicht mehr richtig arbeitet. Möglicherweise nimmt man seine Umgebung nicht mehr richtig wahr oder wird sogar bewusstlos.
