ICD-Code S12.21: Fraktur des 3. Halswirbels
Sie haben sich durch eine Verletzung den 3. Halswirbel gebrochen.
Die Halswirbel werden von oben nach unten nummeriert. Die meisten Wirbel bestehen jeweils aus einem Wirbelkörper und einem Wirbelbogen. Der Wirbelkörper trägt die Last des Körpers. Die Wirbelbögen liegen übereinander und bilden dadurch den Wirbelkanal. Im Wirbelkanal liegt das Rückenmark.
Bei einem Halswirbel-Bruch können auch umliegende Gewebe geschädigt werden. Das sind zum Beispiel das Rückenmark, die Luftröhre, große Blutgefäße oder auch die Speiseröhre.
Wenn man sich Wirbel gebrochen hat, dann kann man zum Beispiel Schmerzen haben. Meist kann man dann den Kopf nicht mehr richtig bewegen.
