Im Brustkorb verlaufen mehrere Blutgefäße. Es gibt zum Beispiel Blutgefäße für das Herz und die Lunge, aber auch für den Kopf und die Arme.
Bei Ihnen wurden ein oder mehrere Blutgefäße am Rückenmark verletzt. Das Rückenmark befindet sich in der Wirbelsäule. Das Rückenmark besteht aus Nervenfasern. Über die Nervenfasern tauscht das Gehirn Informationen mit den Organen, der Haut und den Muskeln aus.
Wenn ein Blutgefäß verletzt ist, dann blutet es meistens. Bei einer stärkeren Blutung kann sich im Gewebe Blut ansammeln. Man kann dann Schmerzen haben. Bei einer Blutung unter der Haut bildet sich manchmal ein blauer Fleck.
