Sie haben eine Verletzung des Zwerchfells.
Eine solche Verletzung entsteht zum Beispiel durch einen Unfall oder durch einen heftigen Schlag auf den Brustkorb.
Das Zwerchfell trennt die Brusthöhle von der Bauchhöhle. Über dem Zwerchfell liegen die Lungen und das Herz. Unter dem Zwerchfell liegen der Magen, die Leber und die Milz. Im Zwerchfell gibt es mehrere Öffnungen, durch die große Blutgefäße und die Speiseröhre verlaufen. Das Zwerchfell ist der wichtigste Atemmuskel. Das Zwerchfell spannt sich an, wenn man einatmet. Dadurch senkt sich das Zwerchfell nach unten. Die Lungen dehnen sich dadurch aus und es strömt Luft in die Lungen. Beim Ausatmen entspannt sich das Zwerchfell. Dabei hebt es sich nach oben.
Wenn das Zwerchfell verletzt ist, dann können sich Organe aus dem Bauch in den Brustkorb hoch drücken. Dadurch kann man Schmerzen oder Atemnot haben.
