Die Lenden-Wirbelsäule besteht aus 5 Wirbeln und liegt zwischen der Brust-Wirbelsäule und dem Becken. Unter der Lenden-Wirbelsäule liegt das Kreuzbein. Das Kreuzbein besteht aus verschmolzenen Wirbeln und ist mit dem Becken verbunden.
Die meisten Wirbel bestehen jeweils aus einem Wirbelkörper und einem Wirbelbogen. Der Wirbelkörper trägt die Last des Körpers. Die Wirbelbögen liegen übereinander und bilden dadurch den Wirbelkanal. Im Wirbelkanal liegt das Rückenmark.
Wenn man sich Wirbel-Knochen gebrochen hat, dann kann man Schmerzen haben. Es kann sein, dass man sich nicht mehr richtig bewegen kann.
