Dabei sind mindestens 80 Prozent Ihrer Körperoberfläche von sehr tiefen Verätzungen betroffen. Bei tiefen Verätzungen kann die Haut vollständig abgestorben sein. Das Gewebe unter der Haut kann ebenfalls geschädigt sein. Wenn an einer Stelle Nerven stark geschädigt sind, dann spürt man dort keine Schmerzen mehr.
Bei einer Verätzung ist Gewebe durch chemische Stoffe wie Säuren oder Laugen geschädigt. Verätzungen sind umso schwerwiegender, je mehr Körperoberfläche sie betreffen.
