Phosphor kommt in verschiedenen Formen vor. Weißer Phosphor ist zum Beispiel giftig. Wenn man sich mit weißem Phosphor vergiftet, dann ist einem meist schlecht und man kann sich erbrechen. Man kann auch Durchfall bekommen und die Leber kann geschädigt werden. Wenn man über einen längeren Zeitraum mit weißem Phosphor Kontakt hat, dann können die Zähne und der Kieferknochen geschädigt werden. Manche Phosphor-Verbindungen sind ebenfalls giftig.
