Die Harnblase liegt unten im Bauch und sammelt den Urin. Der Urin wird in den beiden Nieren gebildet. Von den Nieren gelangt der Urin über die Harnleiter in die Harnblase. Wenn man Wasser lässt, dann fließt der Urin von der Harnblase über die Harnröhre nach außen ab.
Ein künstlicher Harnblasen-Ausgang ist eine zusätzliche Verbindung von der Harnblase nach außen. Eine solche Verbindung befindet sich unten am Bauch und wird durch eine Operation geschaffen. Der Urin wird dann über diese Verbindung ausgeschieden.
Ein künstlicher Harnblasen-Ausgang benötigt eine besondere Versorgung. Dazu gehört zum Beispiel, dass man den Ausgang kontrolliert und reinigt. Manchmal müssen auch Schläuche ausgetauscht oder ein Verband erneuert werden.
