Wenn ein Organ transplantiert wird, wird ein krankes oder fehlendes Organ durch ein gesundes ersetzt.

Das Herz pumpt das Blut durch den Körper. Das Blut fließt dabei durch Blutgefäße. Durch das Blut werden alle Bereiche des Körpers mit Sauerstoff und Nährstoffen versorgt.

Man braucht die Lunge, um zu atmen. Beim Einatmen gelangt Sauerstoff in die Lunge und reichert sich dort im Blut an. Dieses Blut fließt dann zum Herzen. Das Herz pumpt das sauerstoffreiche Blut dann in den Körper. Dadurch werden alle Organe mit Sauerstoff versorgt.

Werden ein Herz und eine Lunge transplantiert, stammen die gesunden Organe von einem anderen Menschen.
