Sie haben einen künstlichen Kehlkopf.
Der Kehlkopf ist wichtig für die Atmung und für das Sprechen. Er besteht vor allem aus Knorpel, Bändern und Muskeln. Auch die Stimmbänder liegen im Kehlkopf. Den Kehlkopf kann man besonders gut bei Männern vorne am Hals als vorgewölbte Stelle sehen. Diese Stelle heißt auch Adamsapfel.
Wenn man zum Beispiel an Kehlkopf-Krebs erkrankt, dann muss der Kehlkopf manchmal entfernt werden. Mit einem künstlichen Kehlkopf kann man häufig wieder normal atmen, sprechen und schlucken.
