Ein Absauggerät besteht aus einem Gehäuse mit einem Auffangbehälter und einem biegsamen Schlauch. Wenn man das Absauggerät einschaltet, dann funktioniert es wie ein Staubsauger. Mit dem Schlauch werden meist Flüssigkeit oder Fremdkörper aus dem Körper entfernt.
Manchmal kann man zum Beispiel nicht mehr richtig abhusten. Dann sammelt sich meist viel Schleim in den Atemwegen an. Mit einem Absauggerät kann man dann den Schleim über den Mund oder die Nase absaugen.
