Sie sind seit mehreren Monaten auf ein Beatmungsgerät angewiesen.
Sie können alleine nicht mehr richtig atmen. Das kann zum Beispiel passieren, wenn die Lunge stark geschädigt ist. Ihre Atmung wird deshalb von einem Beatmungsgerät übernommen oder untersützt. Durch die Beatmung wird das Blut in der Lunge mit Sauerstoff angereichert und Kohlendioxid entfernt.
Es gibt verschiedene Formen der Beamtung. Man kann zum Beispiel über eine Maske im Gesicht oder direkt über die Luftröhre beatmet werden. Die Lunge liegt links und rechts im Brustkorb. Sie ist über die Bronchien und die Luftröhre mit der Nase und dem Mund verbunden.
