OPS-Code 1-494.0:
Biopsy without incision on other organs and tissue: Imaging-guided (percutaneous) biopsy of other organs and tissue: Myocardial
Tissue samples have been taken from your heart muscle.
The tissue samples were taken using a hollow needle. This type of needle can be inserted through the skin into the heart muscle. A tissue sample can also be taken from the heart muscle via the oesophagus. In this case, a tube is inserted into the oesophagus. The needle is then passed through the wall of the oesophagus into the heart muscle. While the tissue sample was being taken, images were also taken of the inside of your body. That way it is possible to see exactly where the needle is.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
Note
Your doctor will assist you with any health-related questions and explain the OPS code to you in a direct consultation if necessary.
