OPS-Code 1-586.8:
Incisional biopsy of other organs: Incisional biopsy of lymph nodes: Mesenteric
Tissue samples were taken from lymph nodes in the suspensory ligament for your abdominal organs during an operation.
The lymph nodes are small bean-shaped objects. They are found throughout the body. Lymph nodes filter the tissue fluid. They are part of the defense system.
In the abdomen there is a sort of suspensory ligament for certain organs. These organs include the stomach and the intestine, for example. The suspensory ligament anchors the organ within the abdomen while allowing it a certain degree of mobility. Blood vessels and nerves for the organ also normally run through the suspensory ligament.
