OPS-Code 5-015.4:
Incision (trepanation), excision and destruction on the skull, brain and meninges: Excision and destruction of diseased intracranial tissue: Meninges, tumor tissue with preparation of infiltrated surrounding tissue
Tumor tissue in your brain area was surgically removed or destroyed.
The brain receives, processes and stores sensory impressions. It also controls movements and various other physical functions. On the outside of the brain and spinal cord there are three thin meninges (linings). A tough meninx, the dura mater, is on the outside. Below that are two soft meninges.
The tissue in the body is made up of cells. A tumor disorder involves the cells multiplying more than normal. This results in abnormal or excess tissue forming. A tumor can be benign or malignant. You had tumor tissue in the meninges. The tumor tissue has also grown into the surrounding tissue.
