It consists of the air-filled tympanic cavity and the 3 ossicles.The ossicles transmit sounds from the eardrum to the inner ear in the form of vibrations.The third auditory ossicle connects directly to the inner ear.
You had the third auditory ossicle partially or completely removed during surgery. It was then replaced with tissue from your own body. This tissue from your own body may consist of bone fragments.
