OPS-Code 5-211.41:
Operations on the nose: Incision in the nose: Division of synechiae: With insertion of septal support foils
You had surgery to divide adhesions in your nose.
The body consists of many different types of tissue. Tissue can sometimes adhere to or become fused to other tissue. This can happen after an infection or following surgery, for example. These adhesions (called synechiae) may prevent an organ from functioning properly.
The surgery involved inserting thin sheets of film to support healing into the area around the nasal septum. These sheets are normally removed later. The nasal septum divides the nasal cavity into the left and right nasal passages. The nostrils are the openings into these two nasal passages.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
