The sinuses are cavities in the skull that are filled with air. They have an inner lining of a moist and smooth membrane. This inner membrane is also called the mucous membrane. The mucous membrane produces fluid. Each of these paranasal sinuses are connected to the nose via an opening. As a result, fluid can run out of the sinuses into the nose.The ethmoidal cells form part of the paranasal sinuses and are located behind the nose inside the skull.The frontal sinus is above the eyebrows behind the forehead.
For this operation, these areas were accessed through your nose and through an external incision. This type of operation might, for example, enlarge the entrances to the paranasal sinuses. Pathologically altered tissue can also be removed from the paranasal sinuses.
