Several teeth in your upper and lower jaw were filled with dental fillings.
A synthetic material was inserted into several of your teeth. This type of synthetic material is comprised of microscopic fragments of various substances, such as ceramic, glass or plastic. The material is inserted into the tooth when it is soft and subsequently hardens or “sets”. As a result, the material fits perfectly into the space in the tooth that is to be filled.
A bonding technique was used for your dental fillings. The surface of the tooth was first chemically prepared. This microscopically roughens the tooth surface. A bonding agent is then applied and the filling is inserted. The microscopic roughness on the tooth surface ensures secure bonding between it and the filling.
