You have had an operation to flatten a rib hump.
Rib hump can occur with scoliosis. With scoliosis, the spine is curved and twisted. The spine is connected to the ribs. That is why, in cases of scoliosis, the ribs on one side of the body often protrude while those on the other side are flattened. The bulge is known as rib hump.
A rib hump can be flattened by correcting the rotation and curvature of the spine. It can also be flattened by small pieces being removed from the ribs.
