OPS-Code 5-502.9:

Operations on the liver: Anatomical (typical) liver resection: Extended left hemihepatectomy [resection of segments 2 to 5 and 8]

The left half of your liver and parts of the right half of your liver were removed.

The liver is an important organ on the top right of the abdomen. For example, it helps with blood clotting and detoxifying the body. Nutrients from food are processed in the liver.

The liver comprises several parts known as segments. Each segment has its own independent blood supply. This means that each segment can also perform its own function independently of the others. Several segments were surgically removed from the left and right sides of your liver.
