The pancreas is located near the stomach. To treat your pancreas, a tube with an ultrasound probe was first inserted via your mouth. The tube was then pushed down into your stomach. This allowed your pancreas to be examined with ultrasound through the wall of your stomach. Various small instruments can also be passed into to the pancreas through the tube. This allows the pancreas to be treated from outside the body.
An artificial connection was first created between your stomach and your pancreas. Dead tissue from your pancreas was then removed via this artificial connection. The dead tissue can be removed with specific instruments. The area is normally also cleaned with fluid.
You had a tube implanted from your stomach to your pancreas. Fluid from your pancreas can drain into your stomach through the tube. These tubes normally remain in the body for a period of time before being removed.
