OPS-Code 5-529.s2:

Operations on the pancreas: Other operations on the pancreas and pancreatic duct: Endoscopic transduodenal removal of pancreatic necroses: With insertion of a self-expanding stent

Dead tissue was removed from your pancreas.

The pancreas is located in the upper abdomen. It regulates the sugar content in the blood and forms substances for digestion, for example. These substances are directed into the duodenum via the pancreatic duct.

To remove tissue, a small tube was inserted into the applicable area and an endoscopy was performed. This form of endoscopy involves advancing a tube into the duodenum via the mouth. There is a camera at the top of the tube. The camera transmits images of the inside of the body to a screen. Instruments can also be inserted through the tube.
