OPS-Code 5-546.3:
Other operations in the abdominal region and additional information about digestive tract surgery: Plastic reconstruction of abdominal wall and peritoneum: Omentoplasty
During surgery, your abdominal wall was repaired.
The abdominal wall is the front part of the abdomen. The abdominal wall is made up of various layers. From the outermost to the innermost, the layers are: the skin, the fatty tissue, the muscles and various connective tissue layers. The inner layers of the abdominal wall are very firm. This keeps the abdominal organs in place, even when pressure inside the abdomen increases.
Specific tissue from your abdominal cavity was used to restore your abdominal wall. This tissue normally sits like a blanket between the abdominal wall and the intestines. It consists of fatty tissue and connective tissue.
