OPS-Code 5-733.0:
Other operations for induction of labor and during birth: Failed vaginal surgical delivery: Failed forceps delivery
Delivery forceps were used during the birth.
If there are difficulties during the birth and the child's head is lying deep in the pelvis, a forceps may be used. A forceps can be used to help pull the child out of the vagina. Forceps are used to grab hold of the child’s head on either side. However, the child could not be born with the aid of delivery forceps.
