Blood vessels supply the bones with oxygen and nutrients, among other things. A special technique was used for your operation. The bone material remained connected with its original site by means of a blood vessel and pedicle (tissue bridge). This blood vessel was not severed. As a result, the supply of blood to the bone material was not interrupted. Small blood vessels attached to the bone material were also connected to the blood vessels at the site where the bone material was placed. This should help the bone material to fuse.
