OPS-Code 5-784.fn:
Operations on other bones: Bone transplantation and transposition: Transplantation of a cortico-spongiosa chip, allogeneic, endoscopic: Distal tibia
You had an operation to place bone material in your tibia.
There are 2 bones in the lower leg, the tibia and the fibula. The tibia is on the inside of the leg. The fibula is on the outside of the leg. Both bones in the lower leg have an upper, middle and lower section. At their lower ends the tibia and fibula form the malleolus bones in the ankle. At the top of the ankle the lower ends of the tibia and fibula are connected to a bone at the back of the foot.
The bone material was placed at the lower end of the tibia. In your case, the bone material was inserted within the scope of an endoscopy. An endoscopy starts with a small incision being made in the skin. A thin tube or hose is advanced through this incision. There is a camera at the top of the tube or scope. The camera transmits images of the inside of the body to a screen. Instruments such as forceps or scissors can be inserted through other small incisions.
The bone material for your tibia came from another person.
