Sie haben einen künstlichen Ersatz für das Schultergelenk erhalten.
Das Schultergelenk ist das Gelenk zwischen dem Schulterblatt und dem Oberarm-Knochen. Am Schulterblatt befindet sich an der Seite eine flache Mulde. Das ist die Schulterpfanne. In der Schulterpfanne befindet sich das kugelförmige obere Ende des Oberarm-Knochens. Das ist der Oberarmkopf.
Bei Ihnen wurden die Schulterpfanne und der Oberarmkopf durch künstliches Material ersetzt. Das nennt man auch Voll-Prothese oder Total-Endoprothese.
