In einer Operation an der Wirbelsäule wurden bei Ihnen benachbarte Wirbel miteinander verbunden.
Die Wirbelsäule besteht aus den einzelnen Wirbeln. Zwischen 2 Wirbeln liegt jeweils eine Bandscheibe. Einen Bereich aus 2 benachbarten Wirbeln nennt man Segment.
Bei Ihnen wurden die Wirbel von zwei Segmenten miteinander verbunden. Dazu wurde ein Platzhalter verwendet. Ein Platzhalter wird dort eingesetzt, wo sich normalerweise die Bandscheibe befindet. Durch einen Platzhalter wird ein Segment stabilisiert.
