Sehnen bestehen aus sehr festem Bindegewebe. Über Sehnen sind Muskeln im Knochen verankert. Um den geschädigten Bereich einer Sehne zu überbrücken, kann man körpereigenes Gewebe, gespendetes Gewebe oder künstliche Stoffe verwenden.
