OPS-Code 5-870.70:

Excision and resection of the mamma: Partial (breast-conserving) excision of the mamma and destruction of mamma tissue: Excision by vacuum biopsy (rotating cutter): Without clip to mark biopsy site

A needle was used to take a tissue sample from your breast.

The breast is made up of fatty tissue, connective tissue and the mammary gland. Milk is produced in the mammary gland during and after pregnancy so that the child can be fed.

A hollow needle is inserted into the tissue to obtain a tissue sample. Images are normally taken inside the breast during the procedure. This makes it possible to see where the needle is located. The tissue is then drawn into the needle, excised and removed.

Additional indicator
