You have had your breast removed.
The breast is made up of fatty tissue, connective tissue and the mammary gland. Milk is produced in the mammary gland during and after pregnancy so that the child can be fed.
To remove the breast, the mammary gland and other breast tissue were surgically excised. You have also part of the muscles in your chest wall removed.The chest wall is the outer shell of the chest. It protects the organs in the chest, such as the lungs. The chest wall consists of, for example, the skin, the ribs, and muscles.
