ICD-Code F06.5: Organic dissociative disorder

You are temporarily unable to consciously experience or control certain perceptions, thoughts, feelings or bodily functions.

When people are awake, they normally perceive themselves and their environment in a conscious way. If a person is no longer able to consciously experience something, this can cause a sense of detachment from one's own perceptions, memories and thoughts. Under certain circumstances, a person may no longer feel connected with their own body, feelings or environment. When this happens, their memories may be fragmented or lost and they may lose control over their body movements.

In your case there is a physical reason for this. Physical illnesses can cause psychological symptoms. This can happen if the brain is damaged or otherwise affected by illness.
