Im Körper gibt es normalerweise 2 Nieren. Sie filtern das Blut und bilden den Urin. So helfen sie, den Körper zu entgiften. Außerdem regeln die Nieren unter anderem den Blutdruck und den Gehalt an Mineralstoffen im Blut.
Die Ursache für eine Entzündung der Nieren können verschiedene Krankheits-Erreger sein.
Wenn die Nieren entzündet sind, dann kann man hohes Fieber und Schüttelfrost haben. Im Rücken oder in den Seiten kann es schmerzen. Außerdem kann das Wasserlassen schmerzhaft sein. Man kann aber auch nur wenig oder gar keine Beschwerden haben.
