Escherichia coli sind Bakterien. Bei einer angeborenen Lungen-Entzündung hat sich das Kind bereits in der Gebärmutter oder während der Geburt mit den Bakterien angesteckt.
Bei einer angeborenen Lungen-Entzündung können verschiedene gesundheitliche Probleme auftreten. Dazu gehören Trinkschwäche und Atemnot. Die kindliche Atmung kann auch schneller sein als normalerweise oder immer wieder kurz aussetzen. Die Körpertemperatur kann höher oder niedriger sein als normalerweise.
