Um Worte zu formen, muss man die Sprech-Muskeln bewegen. Wenn man die Sprech-Muskeln nicht gut bewegen kann, kann man Worte nicht richtig aussprechen. Die Sprache kann dann zum Beispiel gehaucht oder abgehackt klingen. Zusätzlich kann man auch Schwierigkeiten beim Schlucken oder Kauen haben.
Wenn die Sprach-Verarbeitung im Gehirn gestört ist, fallen einem beispielsweise Wörter nicht ein. Es kann auch sein, dass man gar nicht sprechen kann. Möglicherweise spricht man Wörter auch falsch aus oder benutzt nicht die richtigen Wörter. Es kann außerdem sein, dass man gesprochene oder geschriebene Wörter nicht verstehen kann. Zusätzlich kann es einem auch schwerfallen, Wörter zu schreiben.
