ICD-Code T80.1: Vascular complications following infusion, transfusion or therapeutic injection

You are having problems after you were given blood, blood components or specific drugs.

Blood, blood components and certain drugs can be administered directly into the blood vessels via a tiny tube. This tube is inserted into a blood vessel using a needle. For this purpose, a needle is inserted into the blood vessel. The tube can remain in the blood vessel for several days. Drugs can be injected into or under the skin.

You have problems at the puncture site or in the blood vessels. The blood vessels may become inflamed, for example. The blood vessel may also rupture or blood clots may form.

Additional indicator

On medical documents, the ICD code is often appended by letters that indicate the diagnostic certainty or the affected side of the body.

  • G: Confirmed diagnosis
  • V: Tentative diagnosis
  • Z: Condition after
  • A: Excluded diagnosis
  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
