Die Brust besteht aus Fettgewebe, Bindegewebe und der Brustdrüse. In der Brustdrüse wird während und nach der Schwangerschaft Milch gebildet, um das Kind stillen zu können.
Bei der Untersuchung hat man geschaut, ob Sie eine Tumor-Erkrankung haben. Das Gewebe im Körper besteht aus Zellen. Bei einer Tumor-Erkrankung vermehren sich die Zellen stärker als normalerweise. Dadurch bildet sich neues Gewebe. Ein Tumor kann gutartig oder bösartig sein. Es kann zum Beispiel sein, dass Gewebestücke untersucht wurden. Manchmal macht man auch Bilder vom Inneren der Brust.
