To examine the cranial cavity with an endoscope, an opening is drilled or sawn into the skull. A thin tube or tube is then passed through the opening into the cranial cavity. There is a camera at the top of the tube or scope. This camera is used to transmit images to the outside during the examination. In this way, the inside of the cranial cavity can be viewed and assessed for any changes.
